  • Contractor: Lend Lease
  • Year: 2012

  • Type: University and Education

Wallace Wurth is a redevelopment project that took a building no longer fit to serve the desired functions of the University of New South Wales and transformed the building through additions to be vibrant teaching and research facility. The building incorporated a new internal atrium space spanning the full length of the building that bridges the new and the old elements of the building.

The building was designed to incorporate a number of sustainable design initiatives and where feasible the existing services and structure has been retained to facilitate as much adaptive reuse of the building as possible, making the building an example of sustainability in practice rather than sustainability by implementation of technologies.
