University of New South Wales (UNSW) is building an extension, designed by Grimshaw Architects, to the Physical Sciences precinct in order to provide a new home for the Materials Science and Engineering faculty. The aim of the Materials Science and Engineering Project (MSEP) is to provide the University with the infrastructure to remain an industry leader in Material Science, and to provide it with the capacity for future growth and reconfiguration.

Surface Design are engaged by the main contractor (BMPX) to complete materials science consultancy for the project. This includes detailed review of the materials used on the façade for durability and suitability for purpose.
