200 George Street consists of a commercial high rise tower and podium in a key location within Sydney CBD.
The ambition for the project is to create a warm and elegant tower through the use of natural materials including timber, sympathetic geometry and design and construction innovation. The tower façade will contain curved elements, feature blinds and an innovative closed-cavity facade. This is the first time this facade system has been used in Australia. Detailed analysis and prototyping is to be completed to determine the durability of elements, thermal properties and performance.
Surface Design are excited to be involved in specifying and designing this prominent project. We are involved working closely with Mirvac and the selected sub-contractor in developing adequate design and protocols to deliver a unique and ground breaking façade.
